This Elmer has a chambered body constructed from select Poplar (back) and a select Douglas Fir  (top) with a 3 piece Maple neck.  The fingerboard is made from  AAA grade Wenge. The combination of  these woods very much complement each other tonally.  Also I allowed for a bit of Wabi Sabi in it's construction. It really has a natural feel and look and sounds amazing.  I absolutely love this guitar!!  It is the first and only guitar I plan to do in this water base golden top finish.

The sounds is amazing and can shift from jazz, blues and all points beyond with no problem.  This Commission  was requested with a "Golden Top" So I decided to named it after the delicious chocolate treat known as the "Wonka Bar" . Whats so special about the Wonka Bar you ask? While there were lots and lots of these chocolate bars produced in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, Only five had the super duper rare golden ticket hidden inside the package along with the chocolate bar. The ticket, if you were lucky enough to get one, could be redeemed for a tour of Mr Wonka's amazing chocolate factory. How cool is that!  Only after naming this commission did I learn that "Charlie and the chocolate factory" was a favorite childhood story of the commissioner of this guitar.  Hows That!!

The Elmer "Wonka Bar" has taken a few cues from the story.

Note the purple top hat. This is a nod to Mr. Wonka himself. Also the cast milk chocolate knobs.  And of corse, the very cool water base golden top!  I also milled a cool ID badge with the retro Wonka Bar logo and series number.

The Wonka Bar SP-04 features the new evo 3 Pickups which are custom wound AlNiCo surface mount singles. The bridge is a blade and neck pickup is pole piece version.
